Resumen
Yves Chevallard is a French professor and researcher in Didactics of Mathematics, considered one of the main exponents of this area, along with Guy Brousseau, Gérard Vergnaud, Michèle Artigue, among others. An ex-student of the École Normale Supérieureafter passing the aggregation exam in 1970, he became a math teacher in his former school. He worked at the Institut de Recherche sur l’enseignement des mathémaques d’Aix-Marseille(IREM) being responsible for the formation of student teachers. In 1976, he met Guy Brousseau at the IREM in Bordeaux and, from then on, he was strongly influenced by his work on the theory of didactical situations thus he started his path in the Didactics of Mathematics. He is currently emeritus professor at the University of Aix-Marseille.
