Resumen
The paper deals with the problem of introduction, exchange and interaction of science bet-ween different cultures. While much attention has been given to the dynamics of scientificcreation, relatively less attention has been devoted to the process of confrontation of differentapproaches to science, such as is the case of the conquest and colonization of what es nowLatin America. We look into the process from the viewpoint of an analysis of the cultural dynamics as seen inthe colonial process. We see the un darling power structure manifested through legitimationschemes based on certain forms of authority which combine the magical (hence knowledge, language, values and science), and the technical (hence skills, arts, weapons, production andlabor modes, exchange and money), as the very essence of the Western cultural synthesis.Indeed, this synthesis is strongly reflected in the paradigms which permeates both the scienceand the arts, which we chose as the starting point for setting up a conceptual framework forcreativity.
