Promoviendo el pensamiento creativo en la clase de matemática: dos casos de estudio en aulas de primaria

La manera en que el aula de matemática puede contribuir al desarrollo de la creatividad de los estudiantes es un problema de gran interés en los últimos años. Este artículo se propuso comprender la forma en que las prácticas docentes, caracterizadas a partir del modelo de análisis de entornos didácticos, actuaron posibilitando o inhibiendo la emergencia del pensamiento matemático creativo en el aula. Se realizó un estudio de casos con dos cursos de 5º grado de primaria de escuelas chilenas: un curso caracterizado como entorno didáctico activo y otro caracterizado como reproductivo. Los casos se analizaron a partir de categorías a priori que describieron las prácticas docentes y las producciones creativas de los estudiantes. Se encontró que las dimensiones del aula estudiadas actuaban de forma integrada para propiciar o limitar el pensamiento creativo en la clase de matemática. En específico, la implementación de tareas desafiantes seguidas de tiempo suficiente para la resolución, una institucionalización centrada en las ideas de los estudiantes, validaciones que promuevan una disposición activa y la comunicación entre pares y con el profesor actúan, conjuntamente, para favorecer el surgimiento de ideas matemáticas creativas en el aula.
