La influencia del conocimiento de los números naturales en la comprensión de los números racionales

Resumen
Los números racionales es uno de los contenidos matemáticos más difíciles de comprender por los estudiantes de Educación Primaria y Secundaria, ya que a menudo aplican las propiedades de los números naturales para resolver actividades con los números racionales cuando no es apropiado (fenómeno Natural Number Bias). Nuestra investigación examina la evolución de este fenómeno en el contexto español desde la Educación Primaria a Educación Secundaria. 438 estudiantes desde 5o de Educación Primaria hasta 4o de ESO respondieron a un cuestionario con ítems relativos a la comparación de números racionales, operaciones aritméticas y densidad. Los niveles de éxito y los razonamientos empleados por los estudiantes muestran que el fenómeno Natural Number Bias está presente en todos los cursos y aunque disminuye a lo largo de los años, persiste en algunos ítems al finalizar la Educación Secundaria.
