Resumen
The first round of the OECD Survey of Adult Skills conducted during 2011/2012 sought to measure adults’ proficiency in literacy, numeracy, and “problem solving skills in technology-rich environments”. This paper reports on a critical examination of the findings of the performances of two participating countries: Japan and France, as reported in the official reports of the OECD and by the media in the two countries.
