Comprensión del sistema de numeración decimal de una alumna con síndrome de Down

Resumen
Se presenta un caso de una alumna con síndrome de Down sobre la comprensión del sistema de numeración decimal. Se utiliza un marco que consta de cinco niveles de pensamiento, organizados jerárquicamente según el tamaño de los números y el razonamiento usado. En cada uno de los niveles se abordan cuatro constructos: recuento, agrupación, partición y relaciones numéricas. Los resultados muestran que la alumna se sitúa en el nivel 3 de comprensión de tareas, lo que corresponde a números de dos dígitos, a pesar de que puede utilizar números mayores. En muchas tareas demuestra un dominio no solo algorítmico y procedimental de los números, sino que hace explícito su comprensión de la decena y la centena.
