Resumen
The Right To Education Act (2009) promises free and compulsory education for all children in the age group of 6 to 14 in India in schools that follow a centralized curriculum. I explore the implications of this regulation for socio-economically marginalized learners, in particular their opportunities for accessing primary mathematics. By revisiting some of the questions raised in an earlier paper about the possibility of realizing the existing upper primary curriculum for these learners, I ask if ethical issues are involved in designing and developing a curriculum, particularly when the state designs a uniform curriculum for all.
